The fission track analysis method was used for the age determination of tektite. The tektite samples studied were obtained from Hainan Island and Leizhcu Peninsula. The method consists in cutting and polishing two sections of a sample

irradiating one of these with a known thermal neutron flux（5.90×1015/cm2）

etching each section identically with hydrofluoric acid

and then comparing the fission track densities in two cases with a microscope. Their fission track age is found to be around 0.7Ma.
