The adsorption behavior of germanium and gallium on cerium dioxide was investigated and a test 68Ge-68Ga generator based on CeO2 was performed. The optimum eluant chosen is 0.02mol/L HCl. The yield of 68Ga is more than 45% and the breakthrough of 68Ge is less than 0.007%. The eluates are free of other radioactive impurities and no dissolved cerium has been found in eluates.
