In order to quantitatively evaluate residual tritium in structural materials and aged hydrogen storage materials
chemical etching is used to determine the concentration and distribution of tritium in stainless steel
and the residual tritium in aged uranium bed for tritium storage after isotope exchange. The results show that the stainless steel samples after 13 years of tritium storage retains tritium mainly in the surface layer of 120 μm
the average residual tritium concentration in stainless steel is about 9.37×10–4 mmol/g in the etching depth of 110.6 μm
and the average residual tritium concentration in uranium powder is about 4.16×10–5 mmol/g.Trace tritium in metals can be measured with high sensitivity and residual tritium can be correctly determined by using this method.
