Rb and Pb in the erythrocyte of 5 groups of rats

were measured by PIXE and XRF. Four groups of the cretinism rats were continuously fed the feed from epidemic cretinism area. Three groups among them drank the water with I and/or Se supplementation. Control group was normal rats fed normal feed. Five weeks later the blood samples were collected. The erythrocyte was separated for the determination of elemental concentrations

while thyroid hormones T4

FT4 and rT3 significantly increased.
