Abstract

The fundamental parameter method in radioisotope X-

ray

fluorescent analysis is used to analyse the composition of the alloy non-destructively. The secondary and the tertiary fluorescent X-ray intensities were considered in the calculation. A computer program for the fundamental parameter method was complied to correct the absorption effect and the enhancement effect. Cu-Zn alloy

bronze alloy and low alloy steel specimens were analyzed by this method. The results agree with the known values as well as the analyzed values by chemical method and atomic absorption method.
