The positron annihilation parameters increase initially with increasing reduction of thickness
then are saturated for the common samples of metals and alloys
so far as we have known. In studying Cu-Zn-A1 shape memory effect
however
we found no increase of S-parameter about 5% thickness reduction when the sample is cold-rolled. The anomaly may be due to the self-accommodating mechanism of martensite plates in initially deforming
not the sliding
thus resulting in no increase of defects to which positron are sensitive.
