Research on mechanical properties of Bacillus subtilis biofilm expressing TasA-n16N
“In the field of synthetic biology, researchers regulate bacterial protein expression through gene circuits and transform biofilms into living materials. However, the weak mechanical properties of biofilms limit their applications. This study enhanced the mechanical properties of biofilms by integrating protein expression and calcium carbonate mineralization, providing new ideas for the design of functional materials in vivo.”
