Based on the Gaussian distribution of D and T ion beam currents on the target of a neutron tube
a dependence of the neutron generation rate on the neutron flux density at a certain point in the neutron field was derived theoretically. Then the neutron generation rate for the 60mm neutron tube was estimated to be 2.2×10/s by measuring the flux density at a certain point with the activation method.
