Ambulatory radionuclide manitoring of left ventricular function was performedwith the VEST in 35 patients with coronary artery disease and 5 normal subjects. Atransient decrease in left ventricular ejection fraction (5%) lasting over 1 min wasobserved in 24 of the 35 patients with CAD during daily activities
only 4 episodeswere accompanied with chest pain and 20 (83%) were asymptomatic. VEST maycontinuously monitor the change of both left ventricular function and the ECGduring the activities of daily life. It was an accurate and sensitive parameter for thediagnosis of silence myocardial ischemia.
