The pre-dose dating using fine polymineral grains is reported for the first time. Distinct advantages of the method are using the single-activation technique and eliminating the test of thermal activation characteristic（TAC）

therefore the change of TAC due to heating can be avoided. This method has been used to judge the authenticity of ancient pottery. It is shows that the technique is particularly suitable for the samples which are very young or with poor TL characteristic at the range of high temperature.
