gastric and pulmonary cell lines and corresponding controls were analyzed by the PIXE method. The contents of potassium in rapid hyperplasia tissues were significantly higher than those in slow hyperplasia
but there were no significant differences between cancer and normal cell lines under the same proliferative state. The results suggest that the high contents of potassium in cancerous cells be relative to the velocity of hyperplasia.
