The serum TSH level of 303 healthy persons ranged from 0.3-5.6 mU/1 and 205 cases of hyperthyroidism
56 cases of early stage hyperthyroidism
67 cases of subclinical hyperthyroidism ranged < 0.02-0.69 mU/1 were reported. TSH levels in 95% patients of subclinical hyperthyroidism was <0.3 mU/1 and about 2/3 patients was nondetectable(<0.02 mU/1). For the thyrotoxicosis after therapy
TSH is the best parameter for the monitoring of its recurence. And better than FT3 as far as the sensitivity for the diagnosis and prognostic monitoring of thyrotoxicosis is concerned. Comparison of TSH(64 cases) and TSH stimulating test was highly correlated
therefore the application of latter test can be greatly reduced. And also the establishment and application of TSH(IRMA) gives a strategic change of the diagnostic procedure of thyroid function test.
