A new kind of DSP based digital multi-channel analyzer has been developed at Tsinghua University. By introducing a twin-FIFO structure in the hardware design
information of both rising edge and baseline level of digital signals can be obtained
the DSP bandwidth can be saved and the system throughput can be improved. The MCA system performs digital processing of nuclear signals in a DSP processor
and accomplishes the system monitoring and spectrum data transfer through USB (or serial) port. Energy spectra of 137Cs γ-rays
measured by the MCA system with an SPEAR CdZnTe detector provided by eV Corp. were given as an example.
