A method for characterization of the pulsed slow positron beam
A slow positron beam-line based on the 1.3 GeV linac of Beijing Electron Positron Collider(BEPC) has been constructed to produce intense slow positron beam. The produced positron beam is pulsed corresponding to the linac pulse of 2.5 ns pulse width and 12.5 repetition rate. In this paper
a self-designed Pilot U scintillation detector for measuring the beam intensity of pulsed positron and positron energy spread is introduced. By using this developed technique
we have quantitatively determined the positron amount by an oscilloscope to read the height of dynode pulse and the integral voltage of PMT anode
respectively. It is much convenient to place the detector outside vacuum and even to find the beam position when adjusting the transportation of pulsed positron beam.
