A study on purification process of single wall carbon nanotubes
A study on purification process of single wall carbon nanotubes(SWCNTs) synthesized by CVD method was performed using X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) and photoelectron spectroscopy. Our experimental results showed that the purification process using hydrochloric acid was effective for the removal of metal particles. We also found the chemical bonding between some chlorine ions and the carbon nanotube and suggested that this bonding effect may lead to useful chemical modification of carbon nanotubes.
