There is only one main dosimetric peak on the thermoluminescence glow curve of MgSO4:Dy
Mn phosphor prepared by co-dopant. The peak parameter and trap parameter of the dosimetric peak were determined by deconvolution of their glow curves with general order kinetics for MgSO4:Dy
Mn sarnples irradiated with 60Co γ rays at different dose levels. The mean peak temperature of the dosimetric peak was found at 383.1℃
as the mean activation energy E~ 1.972eV and the mean frequency-factor ~ 4.294 ×1014s-1 with kinetics order b≈2. The TL dose-response to 60 Coγ rays in the dose range of 0.1Gy- 20kGy was obtained and fitted by the composite action dose response function to give the nonlinear characteristic parameters which showed this response to be supralinear. The dose response to the 226Ra γ rays in the range of 0.1mGy- 0.1Gy was also measured and found to be linear. Therefore
it is possible that the MgSO4:Dy
Mn will be used to measure the annual dose in TL and ESR dating and the radiation dose at higher temperature or in higher-dose circumstances due to its high thermal stability and wide dose response range.
