Non-Rutherford elastic scattering cross sections for 160°backscattering of 0.96—2.74MeV protons from aluminum
such as AlNi3 memory alloy and aluminum ions implanted modified film
has become very common. If proton backscattering analysis is to be used for investigating aluminum content and distribution profiles in the films
the elastic backscattering cross sections of protons from aluminum for a wide energy range are very useful data. The present paper reports our measured results of differential elastic backscattering cross sections of 0.96-2.74MeV protons from aluminum of 99.99% purity at a laboratory scattering angle of 160. Analyzed beams of proton were provided by a 21.7MV tandem accelerator at Lanzhou University. The lowest proton energy in the experiment is in the Rutherford backscattering energy region. The measured cross sections are given in tabular and graphical forms and compared with previous graphical data. The presented data should be useful for those who are interested in the reaction 27Al(p
