Studies on high energy heavy ions Ar and C demonstrate that: (1)Bubbledetectors can be used to detect high energy heavy ion tracks. Each track is composedof a line of bubbles along the trajectory of the heavy ion; (2) Bubble detctor is a typeof threshold detector for heavy ions. The essence of the threshold is approximatelycritical energy loss rate (dE/dX)c

which is similar to that of track detectors. For ourbubble detectors it is 2220MeV/g cm2. The bubble detectors can be used in heavyion physics
