Abstract

The obtained optimum energy resolutions were 11.7% and 12.0% by using the mixtures of Ar + 4% Xe and Ar + 20% Xe respectively for the 5.9 keV X-ray in case of the suitably small values of M and P×a.

In order to get conveniently high counting efficiency

satisfactory putting down age and larger effective window area

some experiments have been carried out. Some results are presented.
