A 3MV Pelletron tandem of model 9SDH-2

the fourth machine manufactured by NEC at Wisconsin

was installed and operated at Fudan University in 1987. In this paper

some problems related to the machine as well as the operating experiences obtained during the past year are described. Three beam lines have been established: one is connected with an Ultra-High-Vacuum chamber

in which A1（100） clean surface has been studied; one is with a microbeam system and 2 µm proton beam has been obtained

the third is for the general purpose

where an experiment of the effect of nuclear resonance on

K

X-ray yield has been studied in

56

Fe. At present

ion beam analysis

such as 8.8 MeV He

++

non-Rutherford scattering on high Tc superconductor

is carried out at the third beam line as well.
