Applications of the radioisotope source X-ray fluorescence analyser on outcrop of a Pb-Zn deposit
Radioisotope source X-ray fluorescence analysis technique has been applied to a Pb-Zn deposit. The method of correcting matrix effect has been proposed. Having studied powder samples and outcrop in tunnel for a Pb-Zn orebody group
a mathematical model has been found. It is proved that 77% of Pb samples and 85% of Zn samples for X-ray measurement sampling on outcrop are consistent with the standards from channel sampling. The pricision of X-ray measurement sampling on outcrop is less than 10%.
16mm source-sample distance is proved to be optimum
according to the experiments on an artificial "Pb-Zn ore" model in which surface is especially prepared by grinding.
