Kerosine has been examined as scintillator solvent. By measuring the relative output pulse amplitude and detection efficiency as a function of PPO
POPOP and naphthalene concentrations we have come to the conclusion that deoxygenated kerosine containing 4.0g/l PPO
0.03g/l РОPОР and 60.0g/l naphthalene is an efficient liquid scintillator. Its light output and detection efficiency relative to toluene containing 4.0g/l TP
0.4g/l POPOP are 45% and 93% respectively. Its refractive index and emission spectrum were also measured: n = 1.4442
