Abstract

This paper presents a new method in the diagnosis of metabolic bone disease. Using a shadow-shield whole-body counter

we have measured whole-body retention(WBR)of

99m

Tc-MDP as up to 24h. in normal and diseased in bone metabolism. This test may provide a sensitive method for detecting increasing bone turnover in adults and children.
